It comprises of some of the largest and most liquid stocks traded on the NSE. It is maintained by India Index Services & Products Ltd. (IISL), which is a joint venture between NSE and CRISIL. The index has been co-branded by Standard & Poor’s (S&P). Nifty is the barometer of the Indian markets.
